It's almost game time
As the charity event is only days away, local news are featuring the story of the game, but even more importantly, the reason for the game. It's an opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of many long-term care children who are patients at the Stollery Hospital. Don't miss this game. It's a fun event, designed to touch lives. You can be part of it!
Event attendees can donate online to Jacob’s Wish or at the event. The organization will also be accepting gift cards and selling Jacob’s Wish T-shirts at the event.
Proceeds will go towards providing iPads for critically ill children, buying gift cards for families, and refilling treasure boxes at the Stollery Children’s Hospital — boxes filled with goodies for children heading to MRI or CAT scans.
Additionally, working with Dr. Lyle McGonigle and Dr. Rehana Chatur, some of the donations towards Jacob’s Wish will go towards helping families facing difficult financial times pay off their outstanding bills.
Thank you so much to our sponsors

Edmonton Journal:
12-hour charity hockey game to raise funds for children's hospital patients
A Sherwood Park mother is hosting a marathon hockey game this weekend to raise funds for an organization she started with her late son.
Soula Milonas and her son Jacob created Jacob’s Wish to provide small gifts for children (and their families) receiving care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
“His wish was for everybody to be happy,” Milonas said of Jacob, who died in May 2015 at age 15.
Milonas and Brent Saik, who began hosting charity hockey and baseball games at his acreage in 2003, are inviting people to join a 12-hour hockey game at Saikers Acres on Monday, Feb. 20. READ MORE

Jacob’s Wish hosts hockey game
“I wanted to honour his wish,” Milanos said. “I think for me, it helped heal my heart to know that I am getting to bring some kind of relief or smile or anything to these families, and getting to say to them, ‘I know what it’s like, I know how hard it is, but people are there for you and people do care’. ”
To aid the cause, the Jacob’s Wish foundation is hosting the inaugural All Day Hockey Charity Hockey Game on Family Day. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Saiker’s Acres (52269 Range Road 220).
The event is open to families and will feature two hockey teams going head-to-head for 12 hours, along with appearances by Positively Princess’d — a charity group that dresses up as Disney princesses and visits critically ill children.
“There are a lot of families at the hospital in need of help, just a smile or anything, that is our biggest thing,” Milanos said. “If we can do something, because I know for me living with Jacob in the hospital for 80 per cent of his life, the smallest things were amazing.” READ MORE
